Welcome to Mrs. Blanchard's 4th Grade Classroom!
I have been teaching 4th grade at Manchester School since 2011. Before that, I received a Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Southern Maine. I also hold a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instructional Strategies and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Literacy; both from the University of New England.
I live here in Windham with my husband, two boys, and rescue pup! I love to cook, garden, DIY anything, and drink LOTS of coffee. I joke that the kids will never see me without one!
My goal is to ensure that your children are safe, engaged, having fun, and learning at the same time. I try to accomplish this by utilizing workshop models, goal setting, and giving my students as much freedom and choice as our curriculum allows. We build our classroom vision and code of conduct together to increase student ownership in the process. Using centers and hands-on activities helps to make the daily grind a little more fun!
